The surface of this board is given various treatments including distressing and hand scraping with traditional tools. The timber is selected for its character filled knots and natural blemishes which are filled and then sanded individually to leave open knots and recesses which give the appearance of an aged and weathered plank. The 4mm oak top layer of Weathered Beam is then embossed is given the appearance of an aged, fumed board with the application of both a stain and 3-coat seal of hard-wax oil
